Green Tea....... Redefined

Greater Victoria Going GreenWant to save the environment from one ton of carbon every year?

Start today by only filling your Tea Kettle with the amount of water you actually need every time.

Most people fill their kettles to the brim. They waste electricity – and their money – in the process.

Persuade another 14 families (15 all together) to only fill their kettles with what they actually need and a whole ton of carbon will be prevented from floating into the atmosphere to do its irreparable damage.

If only your family did this for one week it would save enough energy to light up your house for a day, or run your TV set every evening for a week.

In more than one way that is a new definition for ........"GREEN TEA"

Peter and Linda - well I'm kind of doing this but with coffee.  I store my big coffee pot and only use the small 4 cup pot - which never goes wasted.  More folks should do this and let's come up with other ideas as well.  Good stuff!

Hi Anna,

Yes you are so correct, we do too, howver, in proper Victoria, BC Canada, where we are more British than those in England, we have to relate proper British conduct, which off course involves Tea.....;0)

I love this suggestion - and it's one I've always practiced.  I always thought it was terribly wasteful to boil more water than you really need!
